DECAVERA · Mission & Methodology

The evidence sets
the ceiling.

DECAVERA bridges the gap between EU Ecodesign compliance disclosure and high-stakes operational decisions. We believe corporate sustainability claims and supply chain investments must be held to the highest standard of evidence.

The Industry Challenge

Compliance without verified evidence is a corporate liability.

As the EU Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR) approaches mandatory enforcement, apparel and textile brands are assembling Digital Product Passports. However, two fundamental pitfalls threaten the industry:

PITFALL 01

Passports treated as passive marketing PDFs

Most DPP implementations treat passports as static QR codes linking to unverified marketing assertions. When regulatory customs authorities or ESG auditors request primary supplier records across Tier 1 through Tier 4 facilities, superficial averages fail verification.

PITFALL 02

Confusing correlation with causation

Standard analytics and generative AI models routinely mistake a correlation for an explanation. When an operational change occurs, organizations prematurely claim credit, without adjusting for hidden supply chain factors like factory equipment age, fiber quality variations, or ambient seasonal temperatures.

“Where the evidence will not carry the claim, DECAVERA returns CAUSALITY_NOT_IDENTIFIED instead of generating a plausible narrative.”

DECAVERA Epistemic Rule #1

The DECAVERA Architecture

Five Stacked Layers of Epistemic Integrity

We replace black-box speculation with five transparent, mathematically verifiable layers that build upon one another:

LAYER 01

Primary DPP Data

Ingests material BOMs, cradle-to-gate carbon, and ordered Tier 1–4 supplier stages. Evaluates 8 indicative EU textile readiness sections deterministically.

LAYER 02

Balanced Performance

Pure mathematical calculation of profitability, sustainability, quality, and velocity against explicit published thresholds, producing structured, coded findings.

LAYER 03

Tamper-Evident Ledger

Two-phase revision protocol. Metrics cannot be silently overwritten; pre- and post-intervention states are sealed with SHA-256 hash chains.

LAYER 04

Evidence Workbench

Translates questions into formal Directed Acyclic Graphs (DAGs), integrates human expert review, and runs permutation tests and bootstrap slope intervals.

LAYER 05

Decision Lab

Contrasts identified randomized controlled pilots against confounded observational trends. Computes ITT bootstrap effects across governance postures.

Holistic Performance

10 Dimensions, One Traceable Decision

We refuse to collapse complex supply chain trade-offs into a single vanity score. Every textile product is evaluated across 10 distinct, balanced dimensions:

1. Gross Margin

Commercial viability calculated from bills of materials, tier labor rates, and freight tariffs.

2. Quality Loss Cost

Direct financial scrap and rework penalties quantified in Euros per production lot.

3. Carbon Footprint

Cradle-to-gate GHG emissions tracked stage by stage across fiber, spinning, dyeing, and assembly.

4. Energy & Renewables

Process thermal and electrical intensity (kWh/kg) with verified on-site renewable energy shares.

5. Water Consumption

Liters per kilogram of finished goods with closed-loop effluent treatment validation.

6. Recycled Content

Post-consumer and pre-consumer recycled percentage verified through transaction certificates.

7. Defect & Return Rate

Statistical process quality tracked across spinning, weaving, wet processing, and stitching.

8. Supply Chain Velocity

Cumulative manufacturing lead times and bottleneck identification across supply tiers.

9. Traceability Depth

Primary supplier verification coverage from Tier 1 garmenting down to Tier 4 raw agriculture/synthesis.

10. Evidence Integrity

Cryptographic SHA-256 validation ensuring baseline and after-measurement records are authentic.

Demonstration Integrity Notice

All products, thresholds, supplier facilities, and intervention runs inside this demonstration platform are synthetic demonstration artifacts. DPP readiness scores are indicative completeness evaluations against European ecodesign requirements, not formal legal compliance determinations. DECAVERA is designed to demonstrate how scientific evidence governance can transform supply chain decision-making.
